1- How to register a BIC code ?

See the registration procedure on line or in section 8. of the paper yearly publication of the CONTAINERS BIC Code Register. Fill in the application form, print it and send it to us duly stamped and signed by an authorized person.

2 - What are the charges ?

Registration : 2400 CHF - Yearly renewal : 570 CHF - Ordinary membership: 55 CHF

Billing can be done in CHF, Euros or US Dollar upon request, please specify your choice on the application form.

3 - How long does it take to register a BIC code ?

When we receive the application form 8.5.1 duly filled in and signed by an authorized person, it takes:
- About 2 weeks to check the availability of a code, make the invoice and wait for payment of registration charge when the the code requested is available.
- If the chosen code is not available, we have to make a specific enquiry and this will request some additional time.
- Mind that the organisation of the payment (check, bank transfer) can also generate some additional delay.

The code is officially registered as soon as we receive the payment of the registration charge.
Conclusion : contact B.I.C. at least 1 month before you mark your containers

4 - When can we mark our containers ?

Once you have received the official certificate

5 - How can we know that a code is already attributed ?

- See page BIC-CODE/ 11- extract for free access consultation (monthly updated) Mind! - if the chosen code is on the web site, it is not available
- A code is not necessarily available even if not listed in CONTAINERS BIC register; as specified in the registration procedure, you must consequently contact B.I.C. to check its availability.
